13-13 District residents should contribute as much as possible in Seva Kendra - Rajesh Dhiman

Nawanshahr- Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman met Sukhwinder Singh Thandi, President and Secretary Amarjit Singh Khalsa of Shri Guru Ramdas Seva Society (Regd.) Nawanshahr, a famous social service organization of Nawanshahr area and discussed in detail the services being provided by the society. Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Rajiv Verma was also present on this occasion.

Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman appreciated the selfless service being done by the society for the welfare of humanity and said that the district administration is always committed to support such organizations. He said that while Shri Guru Ramdas Seva Society is making tireless efforts for the welfare of humanity and helping the needy, it also has a valuable contribution in saving the environment, keeping the city green and providing health facilities to the needy.
He said that the services provided by the society during the Covid pandemic are unmatched. He said that the 13-13 Seva Kendra opened by the society near Baradari Garden, Nawanshahr is an example in itself, where every item is provided to the needy for just 13 rupees. He appealed to the district residents that those who have any extra items in good condition in their house, such as clothes, shoes, blankets, quilts, toys, plastic items, utensils, furniture or any household item which is not in use, should donate it to the organization and contribute to the welfare of humanity.
He said that in this way the goods donated by the district residents will fulfill the need of a needy person. He appealed to the district residents to contribute as much as possible for the welfare of humanity and do virtuous work. He also appealed to the needy to get the goods of their need from 13-13 store. On this occasion, the President of the Society Sukhwinder Singh Thandi said that the society also makes arrangements to bring every item from home.

He also said that the society is also running a dispensary at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Chandigarh Chowk, Nawanshahr for the last eight years, where tests are done on doctor's prescription and medicines are given free of cost. Similarly, a dental and charitable lab is also being run there in collaboration with Life Care Foundation, where tests of kidney and cancer patients are done absolutely free of cost. He said that all the members of the society are contributing to the betterment of humanity with dedication and service spirit.
