
Chief Minister dedicates 'Nishan-e-Inquilab' Plaza to the people
S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), December 4: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today said that 'Nishan-e-Inquilab' Plaza will inspire the youth to serve the country selflessly by spreading the life and philosophy of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.

Addressing the gathering after dedicating the Rs 5 crore ‘Nishan-e-Inquilab’ Plaza on Airport Road, where a 30-foot bronze statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh is installed, to the people, the Chief Minister said that this great martyr should not be remembered only on his martyrdom day (March 23) or birth anniversary (September 28), but should be remembered every moment.
He said that this plaza will always inspire our younger generations to follow in the footsteps of the great martyr and serve the country. Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed the hope that this plaza will prove to be a beacon of light for passengers coming from home and abroad by making them aware of the contribution of this great martyr.
The Chief Minister said that due to the tireless efforts of the state government, the Mohali Airport has been named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh. He said that none of the previous governments bothered to name this airport after the great martyr, but after assuming office, his government gave it more priority. Bhagwant Singh Mann further said that naming airports, universities and other institutions after these great martyrs is necessary to maintain their glorious legacy.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is leaving no stone unturned to realize the dreams of the great martyrs. He said that it is the duty of the state government to ensure the progress of Punjab and the prosperity of the people as per the dreams of the great patriots. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the day is not far when due to the concerted efforts of the state government, Punjab will soon emerge as a leading state across the country.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to realizing every dream of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and creating a harmonious and equal society. He said that the young hero of the freedom struggle had sacrificed himself at a young age to free the country from the clutches of foreign imperialism. Bhagwant Singh Mann regretted that the previous governments had turned a blind eye to the dreams of great martyrs like Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh during the past 70 years.
The Chief Minister said that the Punjab government is ensuring that no youth of the state goes abroad in search of employment so that the dreams of Shaheed Bhagat Singh can be fulfilled. He said that the state government has given about 50,000 jobs to the youth in a transparent manner and no stone will be left unturned for this. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Punjab government has initiated reverse migration in the state.
The Chief Minister said, “At an age when youths demand gifts from their parents, Shaheed Bhagat Singh demanded freedom for his motherland from the British.” Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Shaheed Bhagat Singh was an educated leader who was always concerned about the welfare of the people.
The Chief Minister said that the dreams of Shaheed-e-Azam are still unfulfilled as corruption, nepotism and poverty are still rampant. He called upon the people to rise above caste, communalism and religious discrimination to make India the number one country. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this would be a true tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh and other freedom fighters, who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.
The Chief Minister called upon the youth to come forward to create a country of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s dreams and said that we all will have to make tireless efforts to realize the dreams of the martyrs. He said that restoring the ancient glory of the state is the need of the hour. He said that the great martyr was not just an individual but an institution. He said that for the progress of the country, we should follow in his footsteps.
The Chief Minister said that the great sacrifice of Shaheed Bhagat Singh will inspire the youth to serve the country. He said that apart from liberating the country, Shaheed Bhagat Singh also dreamed of a corruption and poverty-free India. Bhagwant Singh Mann motivated the youth to take a pledge that they would serve the state by following in the footsteps of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
