Chandigarh- Punjab is currently facing the worst floods in recent times. Incessant rains and overflowing rivers have wreaked havoc in several districts. In this hour of crisis, the Indian Army has come forward and is engaged in relief and rescue operations, where its personnel are transporting people to safe places and providing essential assistance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously monitoring the situation. He had a detailed telephone conversation with the Punjab Chief Minister to review the flood situation and assured that the Central Government is standing with the people of Punjab at all times and will provide full support in relief and rehabilitation operations.
Vikramaditya Singh, Organisation Minister, Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS), who is continuously monitoring the flood situation at the ground level, highly appreciated the dedication and responsibility of the Indian Army and the relief teams. 
He said, “In times of natural calamities, the Army always proves why it is called the pride of the country. Even in difficult situations like floods, our soldiers work day and night to save lives and serve the people. The people of Punjab will never forget this selfless service of the Army.”
Vikramaditya Singh further said that such difficult times show the power of unity, cooperation and discipline. He appealed to the people to support the relief agencies and not lose courage.
