Ludhiana - On the occasion of Human Rights Day, Naujawan Bharat Sabha, Karkhana Mazdoor Union and Punjab Students Union (Lalkar) held a protest march in Hallomajra area of Chandigarh. Through slogans, placards and posters, people were told about what human rights are and how they are being violated in India today.
Addressing the people involved in the march, the speakers said that the Modi government and the state governments in the union are continuously robbing the democratic rights of the people and are paving the way for the capitalists to earn more profits and loot without fear. As a result, the workers and laborers are suffering the most.
In the past, four new labor codes were brought by amending the old labor laws, which are a means of making major cuts in the meager labor rights of the workers. Similarly, in the past, new criminal laws have been implemented under the name of amending the criminal laws that have been in force since the time of the British rule. Although the nature of the earlier laws was also anti-people, the newly brought laws are even more oppressive and anti-people than the earlier laws.
Which are a means of crushing the democratic rights of the people to protest and raise their voice for their legitimate demands in any way. Many political activists who were made victims of the previous laws are languishing in jails despite having completed their sentences according to the discriminatory laws.
Therefore, all justice-loving people, workers and laborers should oppose these oppressive laws and raise their voices for their legitimate rights on the occasion of Human Rights Day.
Finally, the march was concluded with the following slogans:-
Release political and Sikh prisoners who have completed their sentences.
Revoke the new criminal laws.
Revoke the extortionate labor code.
Stop attacking democratic rights.
Harsh from Naujawan Bharat Sabha, Manav from Karkhana Mazdoor Union and Manika from Punjab Students Union (Lalkar) spoke.
