
Strict action will be taken against property tax defaulters after August 31 - Jyoti Bala Mattu.
Hoshiarpur- Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jyoti Bala Mattu informed that under the OTS (One Time Settlement) scheme of the Local Government Department, Punjab, people have been given 100 percent exemption on the penalty and interest for not depositing property tax, under which this scheme has been implemented till August 31, 2025. Thus, only 2 days are left for the end of this scheme.

Thus, only 2 days are left for the end of this scheme.
He appealed to the general public to get maximum benefit from this scheme by depositing their due property tax in one lump sum and get 100 percent exemption from penalty and interest. He said that for the convenience of the general public, the Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur will also keep special counters open from 10 am to 3 pm on August 30 and 31 (Saturday and Sunday).
Therefore, the city residents should take maximum advantage of this facility and deposit their property tax. He said that the strict action to be taken by the Municipal Corporation on property tax defaulters after August 31, 2025 can be avoided.
He said that if those property tax defaulters, who have property tax arrears for the last several years, do not deposit their property tax under this scheme, then the Municipal Corporation will take strict action against them after August 31, 2025.
