Rajpura, November 16 - Agriculture Officer Rajpura Japinder Singh Pannu and Tehsildar KC Dutta; Today, cooperative societies Mirzapur, Akari, Bher Wal, Pabri, Kotla, Niamatpur, Kheri Gujju along with fertilizer vendors Anshu Fertilizer Agency, Deepak Traders, Dandralan Fertilizer and Pesticide, Guru Nanak Pesticide, Gupta Fertilizer, Veena Trade and Sahni Fertilizer were checked.
Giving more information in this regard, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh said that there are many other fertilizers in the market as an alternative to DAP, which are as effective as DAP fertilizer for Rabi crops. He said that the crop gets 18 percent nitrogen and 46 percent phosphorus nutrients from DAP.
He said that as an alternative to DAP fertilizer, other fertilizers like Triple Super Phosphate, Single Super Phosphate, Kisan Khard are available in the market, using which wheat can be sown. He said that farmers should use fertilizers only as per the requirement of the land. For this, farmers should also get their fields soil tested. He appealed to the farmers and said that farmers should use other fertilizers as an alternative to DAP. He said that regular checks are also being done on the dealers' shops in the district from time to time. He made the farmers aware and said that they should definitely get the bill from the fertilizer and medicine seller. And if any shopkeeper forcibly gives medicine along with fertilizer or does not give the bill, then the concerned agriculture office can be contacted to take action against him.
