Nabha/Bhadson/Patiala, October 26- Lifting has now picked up pace in the Mandis of Patiala district and more delivery is being done than the arrival of paddy in the Mandis. This claim was made by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav today during a surprise visit to the Mandi of village Lot along with SSP Dr. Nanak Singh.
 On this occasion, SDM of Nabha Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh was also present with them. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner and SSP interacted with the farmers and commission agents and said that due to the efforts made by the Punjab Government, there is no problem in the purchase and lifting of paddy in the Mandis of district Patiala. He said that farmers are our Annadaatas (providers of food), so no farmer is being given any trouble in the Mandis.
 The DC said that so far Rs 1100 crore has been paid to the farmers for the paddy purchased in the Mandis of the district. And this payment is also ensured within 48 hours of purchase. He said that 5 lakh 76 thousand 412 metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in the district. Out of which 5 lakh 45 thousand 562 metric tonnes have been purchased and payment for more than 40 percent of this paddy has been made in the last 72 hours.
