Derabassi (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), September 2: MLA of Derabassi Assembly Constituency Kuljit Singh Randhawa today inspected the dam and water flow condition of Ghaggar river near Paragpur, Ibrahimpur, Bohra, Bohri villages for the third consecutive day. On this occasion, he interacted with the villagers and officials and inquired about the situation and assured the administration of taking necessary steps in time.
He spoke to the officials in the presence of villagers and asked them to start the work as soon as possible wherever there is a need to strengthen the embankment so that the villagers do not suffer any loss. He directed that Pokline machines, soil excavation as well as an officer of the concerned department should be deployed there on 24-hour duty.
S. Randhawa said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is fully committed to the safety of life and property of the people. He appealed to the residents of low lying areas to be cautious and cooperate with the administration.
The MLA stressed that the government and administration are constantly monitoring the water situation and necessary steps will be taken immediately to deal with any emergency. He also said that special attention is being given to the sensitive places of Ghaggar river.
