SAS Nagar, October 21 - Mohali Police has arrested four accused who were involved in mobile phone extortion and theft incidents in City One area of Mohali. The arrested accused have been identified as Harvinder Singh alias Honey resident of Phase 11, Ankit resident of Phase 11, Ankit's brother Gaurav and Ganga Charan resident of Bareilly UP. In this regard, ASP City One J Antapuri said that police have launched a campaign against anti-social elements in the city.

Under this campaign, the police have arrested four accused based on the information, who used to snatch and steal the mobile phones of passers-by from different places in the city. They stated that the accused Honey, Ankit and Gaurav used to sell the seized and stolen mobiles to Ganga Charan (who is employed in Industrial Area Phase 9) after committing the incidents; And Ganga Charan used to resell the said mobile phones and give the amount to the three accused. ASP City said that 19 mobile phones have been recovered from the accused and the scooter used by the police in the incident has also been recovered.

He said that the three incidents committed by the said accused in the city have been found out during the preliminary inquiry, in which cases have been registered at the Mataur police station. After arresting the four accused in the already registered cases by the police and obtaining the police remand, they will be interrogated in depth and there is a possibility of solving other cases. On this occasion, the head of police station Mataur was also present in charge of Aman Way and the outpost in the industrial area.
