PEC Organizes National-Level Three-Day Geo-Innovation Challenge Focused on Public Healthcare

Chandigarh, October 8, 2024:- Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) organized a National-level Three-Day Geo-Innovation Challenge, sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, under the theme Geo-Innovate for Public Healthcare.

Chandigarh, October 8, 2024:- Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) organized a National-level Three-Day Geo-Innovation Challenge, sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, under the theme Geo-Innovate for Public Healthcare. The event was graced by eminent personalities including Prof. Dr. L. N. Thakural (Senior Administrative Officer, National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee), Dr. Atharva Poundarik (Center for Biomedical Engineering, IIT Ropar), Dr. Har Amrit Singh Sandhu (President, ASCE India Section NR), Prof. J. S. Saini, and Prof. Arun Kumar Singh (Head, ECE Department, PEC).
The challenge was meticulously crafted to recognize, encourage, and nurture young researchers to develop innovative ideas that address the nation’s socio-economic development needs, especially in tackling the complex and evolving public health challenges of today. Participants were provided with a unique platform to showcase their creative learning approaches and engage in collaborative ideation for potential solutions.
Over 55 doctoral students and research scholars registered for the three-day challenge, and after a rigorous screening process, 28 participants were shortlisted to present their groundbreaking ideas.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Jaskirat Kaur, Dr. Gourab Das, and Dr. Gagandeep Singh. The shortlisted teams will present their Geo-Health innovations to a jury of experts from academia, research, industry, and the social sector, who will evaluate their ideas on various technical and innovative parameters.
