
Progressive farmer Jasminder of Kadala appealed to use 12:32:16 m as a substitute for DAP fertilizer.
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 8, 2024: Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Gurmel Singh appealed to the farmers of the district that they must take the bill from the shopkeeper/dealer while purchasing fertilizer, pesticide chemicals or seeds; and if any dealer refuses to give the bill; then he should complain in writing to the concerned Block Agriculture Officer. He said that if during checking any shopkeeper is found selling fertilizer, medicine or seeds without bill, then legal action will be taken against him under Fertilizer Control Order 1985.

He appealed to the farmers to sow wheat on time by using other phosphate fertilizers available in the market. He informed that at present, apart from DAP, Triple Super Phosphate 46 percent fertilizer can be used for sowing wheat.
Giving this information, Dr. Gurmel Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar said that Jasminder Singh, a farmer of village Kadala, who cultivates about 16 fields; He said that there are many other fertilizers available in the market as an alternative to the shortage of DAP, which are equally effective as DAP fertilizer for Rabi crops. This farmer is using fertilizer 12:32:16 as an alternative to DAP. Regarding the management of straw, the farmer said that he did not burn the straw but made bundles of it and kept it in an empty place.
The Chief Agriculture Officer said that 3000 metric tonnes of fertilizer stock is available in the district and the department is trying to meet the requirement of phosphorus fertilizer in the district by constantly coordinating with the fertilizer supplying companies.
