Patiala, July 1 - The health department will launch a campaign to prevent diarrhea among children aged 0-5 years due to diarrhea across the district. Releasing a poster in this regard, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Goyal said that a special campaign will be conducted from today till August 31 under the slogan "Diarrhea prevention, hygiene and take care with ARS".

He said that all arrangements have been completed for the success of this campaign. An awareness poster was also released today under this campaign. Civil Surgeon Patiala said that due to diarrhea in children up to 5 years of age, prevention of diarrhea, preparation of ORS solution, giving ORS solution in case of diarrhea and giving zinc tablets in case of diarrhea to the child and clean- Full information will be given to the families regarding cleanliness.
District Immunization Officer Dr. Gurpreet Kaur informed that during this campaign, Asha workers are going door to door and giving ORS packets to children between 0 and 5 years of age. So that the child can be fed solution during diarrhoea. During this campaign, Asha and ANM will also provide information on the method of feeding children with solution and mothers should breastfeed their newborns for the first 6 months and give alternative food after 6 months. On this occasion, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. SJ Singh, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Rachna, Assistant Health Officer Dr. Kushaldeep Gill, District Immunization Officer Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, District Epidemiologist Dr. Sumeet Singh, District Mass Media Officer Kulbir Kaur, District BCC Coordinator Jasvir Kaur and Bittu. Singh was present.
