
Minister of State for Sports releases pending cash awards of Rs 31.72 crore to medal winners of 2022 Para Asian Games
Chandigarh, July 18 - Haryana Minister of State for Sports Mr. Gaurav Gautam said that it is a matter of great pride that the players of the state are bringing glory to the country by winning the maximum number of medals in major competitions like Olympics, World Championship, Asian and Commonwealth. The state government is continuously striving to provide maximum sports facilities to the players and provide cash awards to boost their morale.
Chandigarh, July 18 - Haryana Minister of State for Sports Mr. Gaurav Gautam said that it is a matter of great pride that the players of the state are bringing glory to the country by winning the maximum number of medals in major competitions like Olympics, World Championship, Asian and Commonwealth. The state government is continuously striving to provide maximum sports facilities to the players and provide cash awards to boost their morale.
He said that the players of the state who won medals in 4 Para Asian Games 2022 had a demand for cash awards. Fulfilling this demand of the players, Rs 19 crore, Rs 72 lakh 50 thousand each to 13 players from different districts of the state and Rs 12 crore each to 4 players have been released. Let us tell you that the state government has given an award of Rs 3 crore to the gold medal winner, Rs 1.50 crore to the silver medal winner and Rs 75 lakh to the bronze medal winner.
Minister of State for Sports Mr. Gaurav Gautam said that people with healthy bodies and healthy minds make an important contribution to the progress of the state and the country. Keeping this in mind, the state government has made a sports policy and by taking advantage of it, our players are continuously winning medals and touching new heights of success in sports. Other states of the country are following our sports policy.
He said that para players are an inspiration for the youth of the state. These players are not only winning medals for the country, they are also setting an example of strength by showing their talent.
He said that the state government is not only providing financial support to the players but is also paying their treatment expenses if they get injured during the game. He said that 1500 sports nurseries have been opened in the state to enhance the talents of the youth, in which the players are continuously winning medals.
There will be a change in the date of Khel Mahakumbh, competitions will be held in August-
Sports Minister Mr. Gaurav Gautam said that the Haryana Khel Mahakumbh was to be organized from 28 to 30 July, 2025. CET and ACTET exams are to be held near this competition. Due to this, so that the candidates and players do not have any inconvenience, he has instructed the sports officials to change the date of Khel Mahakumbh. The Khel Mahakumbh will be organized in August, 2025 and its date will be decided soon.
