Work on identification of reserved posts for former Agniveers begins

Chandigarh, August 26:- The Haryana Government has taken steps towards providing the benefit of horizontal reservation given in direct recruitment to the former Agniveers of the state and has started the process of identifying vacant posts in various departments, boards and corporations.
In a letter issued by Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Rastogi, all Administrative Secretaries, Department Heads, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and Managing Directors, Chief Administrators and Chief Executive Officers of boards and corporations have been directed to provide the necessary information.
This action is being taken under the instructions issued by the State Government on August 18, 2026, in which provision has been made to provide the benefit of horizontal reservation in direct recruitment to former Agniveers native to Haryana.
According to the letter issued, the government has decided to identify the vacant posts available under direct recruitment quota in various departments, boards and corporations, so that the process of recruitment of ex-Agniveers through Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) and Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) can be taken forward.
All the departments concerned have been asked to provide information on post-wise and category-wise vacant posts. This will include details of the names of the posts reserved for ex-Agniveers, the percentage of reservation applicable to them and the number of probable vacant posts available for ex-Agniveers.
The departments have also been directed to provide information on the vacant posts available for ex-Agniveers under Non-Reserved, Other Scheduled Castes (OSC), Deprived Scheduled Castes (DSC), Backward Class-A (BC-A), Backward Class-B (BC-B) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
The prescribed proforma has also sought information on the status of recruitment of ex-Agniveer on a monthly basis, so that the government can get an idea of ??the overall status of opportunities available for ex-Agniveer in various departments and institutions. Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Rastogi has directed all the Administrative Secretaries to prepare a detailed list of vacant posts available in the departments, boards and corporations under them and send it to the government on priority basis.
