Women are carriers of the knowledge tradition of Vedic sages Dr Chauhan
Nilokheri / Karnal, 20 August. Entrepreneurship is not just a medium to establish business, but a strong thought of self-reliance, innovation and employment generation. The role of women resource persons is extremely important in the direction of making rural women economically empowered by connecting them with entrepreneurship. This remark was made by Haryana Rural Development Institute Director Dr. Virendra Singh Chauhan while addressing participants in the seven-day training programme organized on the subject of Entrepreneurship Development at the institute.
Dr. Chauhan said that Indian women have always been a symbol of courage, leadership and self-reliance. Describing women participants as symbol of bravery and courage of Jhansi's Rani Lakshmibai, he said that women are successors of ancient Vedic sages, who contributed significantly to Indian knowledge, culture and nation building. He said that today's women are also playing an important role in the development of family, society and nation through their talent, knowledge and leadership ability.
He said that training is meaningful only when its impact reaches the last person of the society. Women resource persons should take this training not as just a formal process but as a mission to make rural women successful entrepreneurs. Connecting women associated with self-help groups with self-employment on the basis of local resources and available opportunities will strengthen the resolve of self-reliant Haryana and developed India.
The objective of the programme is to develop the capacity of women resource persons and provide them effective training to promote entrepreneurship in rural areas, expand self-employment opportunities and make women of self-help groups economically empowered.
The coordinator of the programme and Assistant Professor of the institute Sandeep Kumar presented the outline of the training programme and gave information about its objectives and various technical sessions. He said that entrepreneurship development training is an effective medium to develop leadership ability, innovation, problem solving and business management related skills in participants. Such trainings play an important role in giving new direction to rural economy.
Expert L.P. Bhatt who came from National Skill Institute, Panipat gave information to participants about skill development, enterprise establishment, modern training methods and capacity building according to current needs of industries. He said that the better the quality of trainers, the more effective the results of entrepreneurship development will be.
On this occasion, Assistant Professors of the institute Kamaldeep Sangwan, Saurabh Arora, Ajay Kumar, Mohit Kumar and women of self-help groups from various districts of the state and other participants were present.
