Water Recharge System Constructed in Village Baba Deep Singh Nagar Sarpanch Rupinder Kaur
Kapurthala: A water recharge system has been constructed in the village of Baba Deep Singh Nagar. During the monsoon season, rainwater previously used to accumulate on the village roads. In the low-lying section of the locality, a 90-foot-deep borewell was dug with the assistance of the Panchayat and the local residents. All the rainwater will now collect in this borewell and percolate into the ground beneath. Consequently, the groundwater level—which has been steadily declining—will be replenished. This marks the first such initiative undertaken in the village; moving forward, similar arrangements will be implemented in all other areas of the village where water tends to stagnate.
The primary objective of this project is to ensure that rainwater does not accumulate on the roads, thereby alleviating the inconvenience faced by commuters and pedestrians. Previously, this stagnant water would often seep into the homes situated in the lower-lying areas. This new system is expected to provide significant relief to the residents. Furthermore, as the government actively encourages everyone to conserve water, the Panchayat of Village Baba Deep Singh Nagar undertook this project in the best interests of the villagers.
With a spirit of foresight and vision, the Panchayat extends its gratitude to everyone involved. Present on this occasion were Panchayat members Barjinder Singh, Rajwinder Kaur, Kuldeep Kaur, and Sunil Soni; along with Sukhbir Singh, GPS Chauhan, Jeet Singh, Amrik Singh, Pritam Singh, Manjit Singh, Anand Saini, and Subhash; as well as the President, Harminder Singh Raju.
