Village Development Plans of 44 Villages Approved Under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 15, 2026:- A meeting of the District-Level Convergence Committee under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana Scheme was held today at the District Administrative Complex, SAS Nagar, under the chairmanship of Smt. Sonam Chaudhary, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development).
During the meeting, the Village Development Plans of 44 villages of the district were approved. A grant of Rs. 20 lakh per village will be provided for the development of basic infrastructure and other required works in these villages.
Officials informed that under the scheme, 11 villages are receiving grants in the initial phase, while grants will also be provided to the remaining villages in the next phase.
The grant will be utilised, according to the requirements of the villages, for installing solar lights, liquid waste management, solid waste management, works related to Anganwadi centres and development of other basic facilities. These works will be carried out with the cooperation and coordination of the Gram Panchayats of the concerned villages.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to implement development works on a priority basis as per the approved Village Development Plans and ensure proper and transparent utilisation of the grants.
