Veterinary University Holds Valedictory Ceremony of Deeksharambh 2026

Ludhiana, 09 September 2026:- Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, organized the valedictory ceremony of Deeksharambh 2026. It was a student induction programme for newly admitted undergraduate students of the College of Dairy and Food Science Technology, College of Fisheries and College of Animal Biotechnology.
The programme was organized to familiarize newly admitted students with the academic environment, examination system, university rules and the opportunities available for their overall development. During the programme, students participated in interactive sessions on the academic and examination system, university rules and regulations, student welfare, NSS activities, mental health, anti-ragging awareness and career opportunities. They were also familiarized with laboratories, the practical dairy plant, Punjab Agricultural University, sports and recreational facilities, hospital and library services and various departments and facilities.
Dr. Jatinder Pal Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor, addressed the gathering and interacted with the students. He emphasized the importance of discipline, continuous learning, professional competence and active participation in university life.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Dean, College of Dairy and Food Science Technology. Dr. Opinder Singh, Registrar, addressed the students on the rules and regulations of the examination system. Dr. Jaspal Singh Hundal, Director Students Welfare, spoke about the holistic development of students beyond the classroom.
Dr. Nirbhai Kumar Singh, Comptroller, addressed the students about their rights and responsibilities in the university. Dr. S.K. Uppal, Dean, Post Graduate Studies, highlighted the opportunities for higher education available at the university and encouraged students to explore academic and research opportunities during their university journey.
As part of the valedictory session, students from each college shared their views on the induction programme. During the programme, the students also took a pledge to stay away from drugs and lead a healthy and responsible life.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Meera D. Ansal, Dean, College of Fisheries.
