Vet Varsity Organises Session on Success Happiness and Mental Wellbeing
Ludhiana 03 September 2026:- The College of Animal Biotechnology (CoABT), Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, organised an insightful expert session on “The New Self: Redefining Success and Happiness”. The resource person Dr Deepika Vig, Coordinator of Research, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, engaged students in a thought-provoking discussion on purpose, happiness, wellness and holistic well-being.
Dr Vig explored the nature of happiness and encouraged students to consciously develop a positive and purposeful approach towards life. She sensitized the students to the growing significance of wellness and mental health, stressing that individual well-being is a combination of physical, psychological and emotional dimensions. She urged students to look beyond external indicators of success and give equal importance to self-awareness, relationships, aspirations, personal growth and quality of life.
Dr R. S. Sethi, Dean, CoABT, expressed gratitude to Dr. Vig for sharing her valuable insights and engaging with the students. He emphasized the importance of sensitizing young minds towards mental well-being and observed that a sound mind is a precursor to excellence. He added that nurturing mental well-being is essential for individuals to realise their potential and make meaningful contributions to society.
Dr J. P. S. Gill, Vice-Chancellor, appreciated the initiative in organising such a relevant and meaningful session for students. He emphasized that universities have a responsibility not only to impart academic and professional knowledge but also to nurture well-rounded, confident and emotionally resilient individuals. He added that developing a sense of purpose, maintaining mental and physical wellness and cultivating a balanced outlook are essential for young professionals to achieve sustainable success.
Dr Satparkash Singh, proposed the vote of thanks and appreciated Dr. Vig for her enriching discourse. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation by the faculty, staff and students and provided a meaningful platform for reflection and dialogue on purpose, success, happiness and holistic well-being.
