Unas renowned literary figure Kuldeep Sharma to receive National Pankas Academy Award
Una, November 26. Renowned literary figure and thinker Kuldeep Sharma will be honored with the prestigious "National Pankas Academy Award" from the Punjab Kala Sahitya Academy for his outstanding contributions to literature. The award will be presented to him at the 29th annual Academy Awards ceremony to be held at the Press Club Hall in Jalandhar on Sunday, December 7.
Born in Sukdiyal village in Una district, Kuldeep Sharma is known for his sensitive and powerful creative expression. His poetry collections, "Poet's Address," "Suicide Survivors," and his novel, "Debris," have made a national impact. These collections are unique examples of his outstanding writing. He has also written hundreds of poems, reviews, and articles for newspapers and magazines.
He has previously been honored with numerous awards from various organizations for his outstanding writing. Kuldeep Sharma has also been awarded the Dushyant Smriti Samman.
He won first place in the National Vipasha Poetry Competition, judged by senior literary figures like Liladhar Jagudi, Vijay Kumar, and Vijendra.

Kuldeep Sharma's first poem was published in 'Himprastha' in 1976. Since then, his poems and reviews have been published in many prestigious magazines and news supplements, including Vasudha, Pahal, Contemporary Literature, Doaba, Aakanth, Vipasha, Janpath, Vartaman Sahitya, and Amar Ujala. His new collection of poems (rhymed compositions, songs, and ghazals) is under publication. The manuscript of an English novel is also in final form. Some of his stories have also been published in national magazines. His first story, 'Lokapavad' (1973), was published in Punjab Kesari.

Kuldeep Sharma, who has maintained a steady presence in the literary world, considers writing his primary pursuit. He says that continuous creation is the true identity and identity of a writer.
Mr. Sharma completed his early education at the Government School in Hatli. He then studied pre-engineering at DAV College, Jalandhar, and civil engineering at Hamirpur Polytechnic.
During his student days, he deeply studied Russian, French, and American literature. Writers like Dickens, Turgenev, Sholokhov, Chekhov, Dostoevsky, Emile Zola, Pasternak, George Orwell, and Thomas Hardy deepened his literary understanding. The works of Ayn Rand further broadened his ideological horizons. During this period, he became attracted to existentialism through Camus and Sartre and later discovered its influence in Indian literature. His favorite books are Prem Chand's Godaan, Rangey Raghav's Kab Tak Pukaru, and Yashpal's Jhootha Sach.
