Ambala, 27 March- The CIA-02 team of Ambala has arrested two drug smugglers from Bihar with 1 kilogram 534 grams of opium. Assistant Sub-Inspector Naveen Kumar, Amrit Lal, and others of the team had received information about drug trafficking. Acting swiftly, the team arrested two suspects who were sitting among eucalyptus trees on Nasrauli Bharog Road.
During the search, 1 kilogram 534 grams of opium was recovered from their possession. The accused have been identified as Jai Kumar and Lallan, residents of Sitamarhi district (Bihar). After registering a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at Panjokhra Sahib Police Station, the accused were produced before the Honorable Court. As per the court’s orders, accused Lallan has been sent to jail, while the main accused Jai Kumar has been taken on police remand for further interrogation.
