The 649th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas Ji was celebrated at Alachour
Nawanshahr:- The birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas Ji was celebrated at Gurdwara Guru Ravidas Ji, village Alachour. After the Bhog of the Akhand Path Sahib, the Jatha of Dhadi Gurdeep Singh Urapar shared the life of Guru Ravidas Ji and the teachings he gave with the Sangat. On this occasion, he told through his works and speeches that Guru Ravidas Ji was a social reformer, humanist, thinker and great poet.
He said that how Guru Ravidas Ji, while giving the message of common humanity, strongly refuted the evils prevalent in the society at that time, high and low, untouchability, discrimination, hypocrisy, and inequality, and refuted the caste discrimination in a logical and argumentative manner, giving the highest status only to the devotees of God. In the night divan, Baba Balram Singh Khuralgarh Sahib's jatha addressed the congregation through Gurbani Kirtan and said that Guru Ravidas was a progressive-minded Guru who was united with God.
He does not talk about salvation after death, but about salvation of life, which salvation is not personal but collective salvation, he talks about the welfare of the entire society, the good of all. Guru Ravidas inspires to change and build social philosophy. Sharing his thoughts with the Sangat, he gave a message to the Sangat to follow the teachings given by Guru Ravidas Ji and to move forward in life by considering these teachings as a source of inspiration.
On this occasion, Amarjit Singh Panchayat Secretary, Ashok Kumar, Roop Lal Bharti, Malkit Singh Head Granthi, Major Singh, Jagtar Singh, Manveer Karra, Karan, Rohin, Nirmal Kumar, Chaman Lal Former Sarpanch, Kuldeep Kaur, Jaswant Kaur, Sunita Rani, Charanjit Kaur, Kulwinder Kaur, Surinder Kaur etc. were present. Guru's Langar was served in abundance.
