Chandigarh, August 16:- Teej festival, a symbol of Haryana's rich cultural heritage and traditions, was celebrated with enthusiasm, gaiety and traditional customs at Haryana Lok Bhawan today. Personalities, artists, women, children and common people participated enthusiastically in the colorful program organized on this occasion.
On this occasion, giving hearty greetings to the people of the state, Haryana Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh wished that this holy festival of Teej brings happiness, prosperity, progress and excellence in the lives of everyone. He appreciated the wonderful programs presented by the cultural artists and appreciated their contribution in the preservation and promotion of Indian culture and folk traditions. The Governor also announced a reward of Rs. 5 lakh for the artists participating in the function.
Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini also extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Teej. He said that Teej is a symbol of Haryana's rich cultural identity, social cohesion and traditional values. This festival connects us with our culture and traditions and strengthens the spirit of love, harmony and mutual brotherhood in the family and society. He said that such events play an important role in connecting the younger generation with their cultural roots.
The function was attended by several special guests including the First Lady of Haryana, Mrs. Mitra Ghosh, Governor of Punjab, Mr. Gulab Chand Kataria and his wife, Mrs. Anita Kataria, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister of Haryana, Mr. Shyam Singh Rana, Cabinet Minister of Uttarakhand, Mr. Dhan Singh Rawat.
The atmosphere of special enthusiasm was witnessed on the occasion of Teej in Haryana Lok Bhawan. The traditionally decorated jhula in the premises was a special attraction for women and children. Apart from this, various stalls related to traditional decorative items and seasonal dishes were also set up. Women and children participated enthusiastically in these activities and enjoyed the festival.
On this occasion, various cultural teams presented enchanting folk songs and folk dances depicting the folk culture, traditions, history and rural life of Haryana. The artists also presented a captivating glimpse of the rich cultural heritage of different states of the country, which was highly appreciated by the audience. The guests also enjoyed traditional dishes and seasonal sweets.
Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management, Dr. Sumita Mishra, Secretary to the Governor Shri Vijaykumar Bhavikatti, Director of Information, Public Relations and Languages ??Department Dr. Aditya Dahiya, Chairman and members of various boards and corporations, senior officers and other dignitaries were also present at the function.
