SIR2026 Lists of Claims and Objections Shared with Political Parties
Sangrur, September 11:- Under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls in Punjab, the second phase for filing claims and objections is underway from August 13 to September 12, 2026. During this period, claims and objections received from voters are being disposed of by the concerned Electoral Registration Officers.
Following the directions of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, Electoral Registration Officer-cum-Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sangrur, for Assembly Constituency 108-Sangrur, Satish Chandra, provided the lists of claims and objections received so far regarding the revision and updation of the electoral roll to representatives of recognized political parties as per the prescribed procedure.
Satish Chandra said that the main purpose of sharing the lists was to maintain transparency in the electoral roll revision process and to provide recognized political parties with the necessary information to scrutinize the claims and objections received.
On this occasion, Arun Kumar from the Shiromani Akali Dal, Bhagwant Singh from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Surinder Singh from the Indian National Congress, Gurmel Singh from the Bahujan Samaj Party and Gurvinder Singh from the Aam Aadmi Party, along with election staff, were present.
