SDMs action on overloaded dumpers challans issued for four vehicles
Gharaunda/Karnal, 26 August:- The local administration has taken action against vehicles plying on the roads of Gharaunda city carrying sand more than their capacity. On Wednesday, four overloaded dumpers passing through the service road were stopped on the spot by the SDM. After this, Gharaunda police was called to the spot. With the help of police, all four dumpers were taken into custody and got weighed. In the investigation, all the dumpers were found loaded with sand more than the prescribed capacity. After this, the administration impounded all four vehicles and issued challans for all four.
According to information, SDM Rajesh Soni was going towards his office. During this time his eyes fell on the overloaded dumpers filled with sand on the service road. All four dumpers were moving in a line one after the other. Seeing the SDM's vehicle, the dumper drivers tried to take the vehicles ahead at high speed. During this time the SDM's vehicle reached in front of the dumper moving at the front and all four vehicles were stopped on the spot.
After this, the SDM immediately called Gharaunda police to the spot. In the presence of police, all four dumpers were taken into custody and weighed. In the weight check, the vehicles were found filled with more sand than their prescribed capacity. The front number plate of some overloaded dumpers was also missing. The administration, taking action, impounded all four dumpers.
SDM Rajesh Soni said that all four dumpers have been caught and they were loaded with more sand than capacity. All vehicles have been impounded. As per rules, their challans have also been issued. He warned the overloaded vehicle drivers to load goods in the vehicle only as per the prescribed capacity. If any vehicle is found with more goods than capacity, it will be impounded along with a hefty challan.
