Santoshgarh/Una, March 29 (Rajveer Chopra):— Santoshgarh's main road remained completely plunged in darkness last night, causing severe difficulties for pedestrians and motorists. Not a single street light was seen functioning on the road, resulting in extremely poor visibility throughout the entire area.
According to locals, this road remains busy day and night, witnessing constant vehicular movement. Under these circumstances, the failure of street lights could invite a major accident. Due to the darkness, motorists are finding it difficult to spot oncoming vehicles and pedestrians, thereby multiplying the risk of accidents manifold.
Shopkeepers and local residents have expressed their displeasure with the administration and have demanded an immediate resolution to the problem. They warn that if the street lights are not repaired in a timely manner, a serious accident could occur.
An appeal has been made to the local administration and the Municipal Council to take immediate cognizance of this matter and to repair the malfunctioning street lights as soon as possible, ensuring safe commuting facilities for the general public.
