Punjabi Sahit Sabha Patiala to Organise Literary Event on Sunday September 13

Patiala, September 10:-Punjabi Sahit Sabha Patiala is organising a literary event at exactly 9 a.m. in the Lecture Hall of the Language Department, Punjab, Patiala, located at Sheran Wala Gate. Giving this information, Sabha President Dr. Darshan Singh ‘Asht’ and General Secretary Davinder Patialvi said that the event is dedicated to the mini-story genre. Former Director of the Language Department, Punjab, Mrs. Gursharan Kaur, will be the chief guest, while S. Sukhwinder Singh Phull, District In-charge of the ‘Ajit’ office in Sangrur and eminent journalist and litterateur, will preside over the event. During the programme, the Second Avval Sarhaddi Mini Story Memorial Award-2026 will be presented to eminent mini-story writer Shri Mohan Sharma (Sangrur). As part of the honour, he will be presented with a cash prize and a shawl, along with a citation. Gurpreet Kaur and Parvinder Sadana will be the special guests of the event. A paper on Avval Sarhaddi’s personality and contributions, written by Karamvir Singh Suri, will be read by Manpreet Kaur, a teacher at the School of Eminence, Fieldkhana, Patiala, while a paper on Mohan Sharma’s contribution to the mini-story genre will be read by versatile writer Ranjit Azad Kanjhla (Dhuri). The ceremony of reading the citation will be performed by film director Angad Sadana. Seema Verma (Ludhiana) and Gurvinder Aman (Rajpura) will also attend the event as special invitees.
