Public Participation Strengthening Yudh Nashian Virudh Dalvir Singh Dhillon

Dhuri, September 15:- A drug awareness seminar was organised in Dhuri to mark 551 days of the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign. Chairman of Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation Dalvir Singh Dhillon, Chairman of Market Committee Dhuri Rajwant Singh Ghulli, Halka Vice-Coordinator Harpreet Singh Gill, Sarpanch Davinder Singh Dhura, Gagan Jawanda and Jagtar Singh Bagri, along with other dignitaries and local residents, attended the seminar.
On the occasion, Dalvir Singh Dhillon said that the anti-drug campaign launched by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was receiving an overwhelming response from the people. He said that the collective support of the government, police, administration and society was essential for building a drug-free Punjab, and the active participation of people was turning the campaign into a strong people’s movement.
He said that under ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, along with strict action against drug smugglers, special focus was also being laid on connecting youth with sports, education and employment opportunities to keep them away from drugs.
Rajwant Singh Ghulli said that along with breaking the drug supply chain, connecting youth with constructive activities was the need of the hour. He said that sports and education were effective means of guiding young people towards a positive and productive future.
During the seminar, participants were sensitised about the harmful effects of drugs, legal action against drug trafficking and the role of every citizen in building a drug-free society. The speakers appealed to people to share any information related to the sale or trafficking of drugs with the police and administration.
On the occasion, Harpreet Singh Gill, Davinder Singh Dhura, Gagan Jawanda and Jagtar Singh Bagri also stressed the need for collective efforts to transform ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ into a strong people’s movement.
