Public inconvenienced by oneday symbolic strike by private hospitals Omkar Singh

Ambala, September 1: INLD state spokesperson Omkar Singh launched a scathing attack on the state government regarding the symbolic strike observed by private hospitals in Haryana that provide treatment under the Ayushman scheme. He stated that the symbolic strike held today by over 400 private hospitals—which halted free treatment for Ayushman cardholders—directly raises questions about the government's healthcare system and administrative capabilities.
Omkar Singh remarked that private hospitals were forced to strike due to outstanding dues amounting to billions of rupees, a situation that has most severely affected the general public and poor families. The government should have resolved these issues through timely dialogue with hospital operators; however, the government's modus operandi has become such that as soon as one group ends its strike, another is ready to go on one.
He stated that the Haryana government has completely failed to control the system or satisfy employees and various other groups. Recently, electricity department employees and Roadways staff were on strike. Just as the government managed to get those strikes deferred, *Patwaris* (revenue officials) and sanitation workers launched agitations. When the *Patwaris* called off their strike, sanitation and sewerage workers went on strike. Now, the strike by private hospitals has created a fresh healthcare crisis for the people of the state.
Omkar Singh asserted that the government's role is not merely to engage in political activities but also to ensure the smooth functioning of the state's systems. The government bears the responsibility of providing relief to the public on social, moral, and administrative fronts. Targeting the Chief Minister, he asked why the government lacks the time to resolve the grievances of Haryana's employees, laborers, farmers, healthcare workers, and the general public, even while the Chief Minister finds time for political activities in other states. The Chief Minister claims that "everyone is happy" in Haryana. However, the ground reality is that "everyone is distressed, and every section of society is compelled to take to the streets to press for their demands." He demanded that the government immediately clear the outstanding dues owed to private hospitals under the Ayushman scheme, work with hospital operators to find a permanent solution, and ensure that poor and needy Ayushman cardholders do not have to run from pillar to post seeking treatment.
