PROF SANJEEV SOFAT BIDS FAREWELL TO PEC AFTER A DISTINGUISHED ACADEMIC CAREER

Chandigarh:- Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sofat, Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Punjab Engineering College (PEC) , has concluded his distinguished formal service at the institute after a long and eventful academic career spanning more than three decades.
 Prof. Sofat joined Punjab Engineering College in 1994 as an Associate Professor , beginning a professional journey that saw him contribute extensively to teaching, research, academic administration, institutional development, and the modernization of academic processes.
Over the years, he held several important leadership and administrative positions, including Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dean Students Affairs, Dean Academic Affairs, Faculty Representative on the Board of Governors, and Deputy Director of PEC. Prof. Sofat was also associated with the establishment of the Cyber Security Research Centre in association with DIT Chandigarh Administration and NASSCOM, an initiative aimed at promoting advanced research and academic activities in the emerging and strategically important area of cybersecurity.
