Pracheen Kala Kendra Organizes a Grand Sufiana Sangeet Sandhya at Mohali Complex
Mohali: Pracheen Kala Kendra, an institution dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and development of Indian classical arts, has been playing a significant role in the service of art and culture for the last seven decades. Through its tireless efforts, the Kendra is scaling new heights in the field of art.
Continuing this tradition, the Kendra organized a special musical evening dedicated to Sufi poetry at the Dr. Shobha Koser Auditorium in its Mohali complex. Dr. Shobha Koser, Registrar of Pracheen Kala Kendra, and Principal S. Chaudhary, President of the Senior Citizen Association, were special guests at the event. The evening featured a mesmerizing performance by the versatile and talented artist, Dr. Jasbir Singh, who captivated the audience.
The program commenced with Hazrat Sultan Bahu’s famous kalam, “Alif Allah,” which immersed the atmosphere in a spiritual hue. This was followed by Baba Bulleh Shah’s celebrated kalam, “Bhavein Tu Jaan Na Jaan Ve,” which was highly appreciated by the audience.
Dr. Jasbir Singh then enchanted the listeners with a soulful rendition of famous Sufi poet Shah Hussain’s beautiful kalam, “Maaye Ni Main Kinu Aakhan.” He further presented Mian Muhammad Bakhsh’s renowned kalam, “Saif-ul-Malook,” with great emotional depth. Continuing the musical soiree, he performed the famous folk and Sufi song, “Main Jaana Jogi De Naal,” along with several other hits, earning thunderous applause from the attendees.
At the end of the program, Dr. Jasbir Singh was honoured with the prestigious "Surmani Samman" by Pracheen Kala Kendra for his outstanding performance and contribution to the field of art. He was accompanied by Rehmat Sidhu on tabla, Gurdeep Singh on flute, and Aman Kumar on sarangi. Aniket and Varinder Vicky provided support on back vocals. All accompanying artists were also honoured with mementos.
This Sufiana Sangeet Sandhya became an unforgettable memory for the listeners and once again strongly reflected Pracheen Kala Kendra’s commitment to the preservation and promotion of India’s cultural heritage.
