Police Arrest One Accused and Recover 03 Stolen Motorcycles and 02 Activas

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 10:- As per the directions of the Senior Superintendent of Police, S.A.S. Nagar, and under the leadership of Shri Dilpeet Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police (City), S.A.S. Nagar, a special campaign is being conducted to curb incidents of vehicle theft taking place in Mohali city. In this regard, Shri Gurcharan Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, City-1 Mohali, directed police teams to check suspicious persons and vehicles.
Under this campaign, the team of the Station House Officer, Police Station Phase-1 Mohali, achieved a major success when, on 06-09-2026, information was received from a confidential informer that Gurjit Singh alias Tota, son of Gurmukh Singh, resident of House No. 462, near Khera Mundi, Kharar, who is habitual of stealing motorcycles, was currently in possession of a stolen motorcycle bearing registration number PB-65A-2230, a Splendor Plus, and was standing along with the motorcycle behind the new water tank in Mohali Phase-1 with the intention of selling it.
The police immediately took action and apprehended Gurjit Singh alias Tota and recovered the stolen motorcycle from his possession. In this regard, FIR No. 201 dated 06-09-2026 under Section 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Phase-1 Mohali. During interrogation of the accused, Section 317(2) BNS was added to the case.
The accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court and one-day police remand was obtained. During interrogation while in remand, two more stolen motorcycles and two Activas were recovered at the instance of the accused. Further investigation in the case is underway.
