Hansi:- Hansi Municipal Council Vice Chairman Anil Bansal on Thursday staged a unique protest against the Public Health Engineering Department by playing drums. He alleged that a road built by the Municipal Council at a cost of about one crore rupees was dug up without prior permission and now the concerned department is trying to evade responsibility in the name of NOC.
Anil Bansal said that the road built from Delhi Gate via Ram Mandir to Jind Chowk was dug up in front of Panchayati Ramlila Ground. He says that no permission was taken from the Municipal Council for this work. He alleged that after digging up the road, now the Public Health Department is asking for NOC from the B&R Department, which has no connection with this road.
He said that there are clear instructions from the administration that it is mandatory to take proper permission from the concerned department before digging up any road or laying a pipeline, but in this case the rules have been ignored. Also, the complaint made in this regard was also closed without proper investigation.
The Vice Chairman said that the road has been broken for the last about 15 days, due to which pedestrians, traders and drivers are facing a lot of trouble. Traffic is being affected due to potholes and debris on the main road of Kath Mandi and there is also a fear of accidents.
He alleged that the concerned officers are shifting the responsibility on each other, while the general public has to bear the brunt. The Municipal Council, local councillors and traders have demanded immediate repair of the road, a fair investigation of the matter and action as per rules against the officers responsible for negligence. Along with this, there has also been a demand to fix accountability for the damage caused to government property and to transfer the guilty officers.
