Players Excelling in DistrictLevel KhoKho Honored at Rayat Bahra International School

Hoshiarpur: Players who delivered outstanding performances in Kho-Kho during the district school games were honored at a ceremony held at Rayat Bahra International School. Distinguished guests who attended the event and awarded the students included District Education Officer Harjinder Kaur, Sports Board Constituency Chairman Avtar Singh, Principal Shailendra Thakur (Naru Nangal School), Principal Ramandeep (Purhiran), and Kho-Kho Vice President Ajit Singh. Upon their arrival, Principal Rashmi Sharma welcomed the guests.
Encouraging the students, District Education Officer Harjinder Kaur remarked that children who participate in sports alongside their academics stand out from the rest and possess a greater capacity to accomplish tasks. Kho-Kho coach and lecturer Surjit Singh shared details of the recent competitions: in the Under-14 boys' category, Shergarh Zone secured first place, Pathiyal Zone second, and Tanda Zone third. Among Under-14 girls, Mahilpur Zone took first place, Dasuya second, and Hoshiarpur third.
In the Under-17 boys' category, Dasuya finished first, Garhshankar second, and Tanda third; among Under-17 girls, Shergarh secured first place, Garhshankar second, and Dasuya third. In the Under-19 boys' category, Shergarh Zone took first place, Hoshiarpur second, and Hajipur third, while among girls, Pathiyal Zone secured first place, Garhshankar second, and Mukerian third. The competitions concluded successfully under the supervision of Kho-Kho team convener Gurjit Singh and Satveer Singh, along with Shergarh Zone Secretary Kulveer Kaur, Jaswinder, Prithipal Singh, Gurdev Singh, Ranjeet Kaur, Sunita Rani, Navjot Kaur, Jasveer Kaur, Rajinder Kaur, Rajni Devi, Gurpreet Kaur, Rajwinder Kaur, Kuljit Kaur, Vipan, Ramcharan, and Gauhar Singh.
On this occasion, the District Education Officer honored DPE Jaswinder Singh (who is set to retire in November 2026) for his services; honors were also conferred upon Avtar Singh, Chairman of the Sports Welfare Board, and Harjit Singh, Head of the Sports Department at Rayat Bahra School. At the conclusion of the event, everyone honored District Education Officer Harjinder Kaur and expressed their gratitude for her presence.
