PGIMER Organises Workshop on Public Procurement

Chandigarh, September 15:- The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh organised a workshop on “Public Procurement” on September 10, 2026, as a precursor to Vigilance Awareness Week 2026. The initiative was conducted in accordance with the directions of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), New Delhi, which has advised all organisations to conduct a three-month Vigilance Awareness Campaign from August 17, 2026 to November 16, 2026.
Shri Yogesh Sharma, Purchase Officer, PGIMER, Chandigarh, delivered a comprehensive presentation on various aspects of public procurement. The presentation aimed to enhance awareness among employees and contribute to the institution’s ongoing capacity-building efforts.
Around 110 participants, including doctors, nursing staff, paramedical personnel and administrative employees, actively participated in the workshop.
The initiative by the Vigilance Cell, PGIMER highlighted the institution’s commitment to strengthening institutional capacity and promoting a culture of preventive vigilance, which is essential for encouraging ethical practices and enhancing the overall efficiency of the institution.
The Chief Vigilance Officer emphasised that public procurement is not merely a business transaction, but also a commitment to safeguarding taxpayers’ money and maintaining citizens’ trust.
