People should take maximum advantage of the Prime Ministers Free Electricity Scheme for Solar Homes Deputy Commissioner Dr Vivek Bharti

Ratia/Fatehabad, March 2:- The Prime Minister's Free Electricity Scheme, launched by the Central Government with the aim of providing relief from the rising burden of electricity bills and making every household energy-reliant, is proving to be a boon for the common people. Through this ambitious scheme, ordinary citizens can now obtain free electricity by installing solar panels on their rooftops and also earn income by selling the surplus electricity.
Disclosing this information, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vivek Bharti appealed to the district residents to take maximum advantage of this public welfare scheme. He said that this initiative is an important step towards promoting clean energy, as well as economic savings and environmental protection.
The Deputy Commissioner said that under this scheme, eligible families can receive up to 300 units of free electricity per month by installing solar panels on their rooftops. This can save a family approximately ?15,000 to ?18,000 per year.

The application process is simple, transparent, and conducted digitally.

**Subsidy provided by the Central Government
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vivek Bharti stated that the Central Government is providing attractive subsidies for the installation of solar plants. Subsidies of up to ?30,000 are provided for a 1 kilowatt system, ?60,000 for a 2 kilowatt system, and ?78,000 for a system of 3 kilowatts or more.

**Additional assistance from the State Government
The Deputy Commissioner stated that families whose annual income is less than ?180,000 on their family identity card are also being provided additional state government subsidies. A total subsidy of up to ?110,000 is being provided for installing a 2 kW plant.

**Opportunity to earn income by selling surplus electricity
Under this scheme, consumers can earn additional income by selling surplus electricity to power distribution companies. This will not only provide relief on electricity bills but will also increase family income.
