Haryana Government is fully committed to purchase farmers produce at MSP price

Chandigarh, April 1:- HAFED has termed as false, misleading and beyond facts the news published in a leading national Hindi daily on April 1, 2026, in which the MSP price of sunflower seeds was wrongly mentioned in the procurement instructions issued by HAFED.
Stating this here today, a spokesperson of HAFED clarified that the procurement instructions were issued by HAFED vide letter dated March 19, 2026, in which the MSP of all crops was correctly mentioned. However, due to an unknown clerical error, the MSP of sunflower seeds was mistakenly recorded as Rs. 6540 per quintal instead of the current year's MSP. The said error was later brought to notice and rectified. The revision instructions were issued on 29th March 2026 in place of the earlier instructions, which included the correct MSP of sunflower seeds for the current year at Rs. 7721 per quintal.
Notice of revision instructions It is important to inform all the concerned parties that the news report only mentions the initial instructions and completely ignores the revision instructions issued earlier, thereby presenting an incomplete and misleading picture.
In addition, the news report quotes a statement from the District Manager of HAFED, Kurukshetra. In this regard, it has been clarified that no journalist has contacted the concerned District Manager and the statement given with his citation is incorrect and invalid. Such reporting has not only damaged the reputation of HAFED but may also create confusion among the farmers.
The spokesperson said that the MSP price of all crops is fixed by the Government of India and in Haryana, the state procurement agencies, including HAFED, procure at MSP only. The state government is fully committed to purchasing the produce of farmers at MSP.
