Pensioners announce rallies and burning of urns against Punjab Government on 27th August

Patiala, August 26:- The monthly meeting of Pensioners Welfare Federation Punjab Power Corporation and Transmission Corporation was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Amarjit Singh Baba, State President at P-3, 66 KV Grid Colony, Patiala. A large number of pensioners, state committee members and circle presidents from different circles of Punjab participated in the meeting.
The meeting unanimously passed a resolution condemning the policy of the Punjab Government of not paying and postponing the installments of 18 percent dearness allowance to employees and pensioners as per the decision of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Along with this, it was decided to hold rallies and burning of urns against the Punjab Government at the circle headquarters of all Punjab on 27-08-2026.
Releasing the information of the meeting to the press, B.S. Sekhon, General Secretary said that the entire employee and pensioner class of Punjab is fed up with the anti-employee policies of the Punjab government. He said that it has been unanimously decided that the Aam Aadmi Party will be opposed in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections to be held in February 2027.
He said that if the legitimate demands of the employees and pensioners of Punjab are not implemented by 31 August 2026, then a big agitation will be started in the first week of September.
Baba Amarjit Singh, B.S. Sekhon, Paramjit Singh Dasuha, M.L. Kapila, Balwinder Singh Pasiana, Rajinder Thakur, Paramjit Singh Jalandhar, Harjinder Singh Chauhan, Malkit Singh Kang, H.S. Kohli, Satish Kumar, Balwinder Singh Hajipur, Surjit Singh, Parvinder Singh, Ram Sharan Prashar, Sarabjit Singh Lang, Sukhdev Singh Cashier, Mahinder Singh Ferozepur, Gurcharan Singh Patiala, Gurdeep Singh etc. were present in the meeting.
