PEC Organises Lectures on Patent Search and Drafting

Chandigarh, September 10, 2026:-Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, organised a series of lectures on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for postgraduate (PG) and PhD students at the Senate Hall. The programme was organised by the Dean, Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy (SRIC) Office. The programme was supported by Prof. Umesh Sharma, Dean, SRIC, and Prof. Sandeep Kumar, Associate Dean, SRIC (IPR).
The lectures were conducted by Ms. Sangeeta Nagar, Senior Scientist, M/s S.S. Rana & Co., New Delhi, and Mrs. Sonu Rathore, Chief Technical Officer.
The sessions covered topics such as patent search, assessment of patentability and novelty, and basic knowledge of patent drafting for universities and research and development institutions. The programme provided students with important information regarding the protection of their research and innovations and their conversion into intellectual property.
