Fatehabad, July 27: A continuous campaign is being run by the Mahashakti Charitable Trust and Nashamukti Sena with the aim of making the district completely drug-free, rescuing youth from the quagmire of addiction to integrate them into the social mainstream, and—with the cooperation of the police and administration—striking a hard blow against those involved in drug trafficking. As part of this initiative, a special program titled 'Ek Samvad – Nashe Ke Khilaf' (A Dialogue Against Drugs) was organized at the Community Centre in Shakti Nagar, Fatehabad.
The event was held under the organization's ongoing ward-wise public awareness campaign aimed at educating the youth and the general public; a large number of local youths, women, and enlightened citizens participated. During the program, all attendees united to pledge to eradicate this social evil of drug abuse from the roots and to realize the dream of a healthy, drug-free society.
Addressing the youth, Bhawani Singh, founder of the Mahashakti Charitable Trust and Nashamukti Sena, discussed the severe adverse effects of drug abuse and stated that the youth are the backbone of any nation and society. He noted that at a time when our youth power should be playing a pivotal role in nation-building and progress, the dark shadow of addiction is pushing their future into darkness. Drug abuse does not merely ruin an individual; it devours the entire family and society like termites.
We must steer this youthful energy away from the path of deviation and channel it in a positive direction. Inspiring the youth, Bhawani Singh emphasized that this fight against drugs is not the responsibility of any single organization or the administration alone, but a shared responsibility for all of us. It is our duty to provide proper guidance and bring back into the mainstream those youths who have strayed onto this path for any reason. On the other hand, those who are selling our children's future for the sake of a few rupees and are involved in drug trafficking will not be spared.
A tight rein will be kept on such elements with the cooperation of the police and administration. He urged everyone to pledge that they would not rest until their homes, neighborhoods, and the entire district were made free from substance abuse. At the conclusion of the event, women and youth highly praised the organization's initiative and assured that they would take this message of awareness to every household at the ward level. Office-bearers of the organization clarified that a series of such interactive programs would continue in every ward of Fatehabad.
