Officials assigned for checking stone crushersscreening plants and preventing illegal mining

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 11:- The District Administration has constituted teams at the sub-division level in the district to prevent illegal mining and conduct inspections of stone crushers/screening plants. The teams will work according to a roster from September2 026 to December 2026.
According to the orders issued by Additional District Magistrate (General) Smt. Geetika Singh, the teams have been constituted in compliance with the directions issued by the Principal Secretary, Mines and Geology Department, Punjab, vide No. 1300 GAG/2022 dated 07.10.2022, regarding prevention of illegal mining and inspection of stone crushers/screening plants. The teams will ensure that daily reports of inspections conducted of sand, gravel, stone crushers and illegal mining are submitted so that illegal mining can be prevented. The teams have also been directed to ensure that while registering cases related to illegal mining, the vehicle number and the name of its owner are also entered in the FIR. In coordination with the RTO, S.A.S. Nagar, details of the tippers, JCB excavators, tractor-trolleys and other machinery being used are also to be entered into the database.

In Sub-Division Mohali, for the crossing at Banur-Tepla Road and Zirakpur-Patiala Road, Shri Shiv Charan Saini, JE-cum-Mining Inspector, Banur Mohali (8360153871); Amit Pal Singh, Sub-Divisional Engineer, Water Supply and Sanitation Division No. 1 (98767-98741); ASI Balwinder Singh 351/S.A.S. Nagar (97293-86894); and Constable Gurdeep Singh 2179/S.A.S. Nagar (94647-96557) have been assigned duty.
All the above teams will ensure that a detailed report of the inspections conducted by them is prepared every week by the Executive Engineer-cum-Mining Officer, S.A.S. Nagar, and submitted to the office of the Deputy Commissioner.
Regarding these inspections, the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrates (S.A.S. Nagar/Kharar/Dera Bassi) will be the overall in-charges of their respective sub-divisions. The district-level heads of the concerned departments will be responsible for monitoring the staff deployed by their respective departments. The DSP, Economic Offences and Cyber Crime, S.A.S. Nagar, will be the nodal officer of the police team, while the concerned Sub-Divisional Police Officers (DSPs) will supervise the teams constituted for the inspections and maintain continuous coordination with the SDMs of their respective sub-divisions.
