Karnal, February 27: A team formed under the leadership of District Police CIA-2 Team Incharge Inspector Praveen Kumar, under the supervision of Sub-Inspector Devendra Singh, uncovered the sensational murder and robbery of a cab driver and arrested two accused. The arrested accused are Praveen alias Pina, son of Satpal, resident of village Kaimla, district Karnal, and Jatin, son of Rajbir, resident of village Johra, Gohana, district Sonipat.
During a press conference, DSP Rajiv Kumar stated that the accused had premeditatedly booked a cab from Delhi and, under some pretext, lured the driver to a secluded location in village Kaimla, in the Gharaunda area of ??Karnal. The two accused murdered the driver, dumped his body in the bushes, and fled the scene with the car.
Upon receiving information about the incident, various district police teams took swift and coordinated action. Based on technical analysis, CCTV footage, and intelligence, the CIA-2 team successfully apprehended both accused. A case number 134/2026 has been registered against the accused at Sadar Police Station, Karnal, under relevant sections.
The main accused, Praveen alias Pina, was produced before the Honorable Court and granted three days' police remand for further investigation regarding the means used in the crime, the recovery of the stolen vehicle, and his possible criminal background. Further investigation is underway.
