Madan Jalandhari Honoured with Chan Gurayan Wala Award Shayran Di Duniya3 Released

Gurayan/Jalandhar, September 7:- Navin Chetna Punjabi Lekhak Manch Punjab, in collaboration with Kendri Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Sekhon, organized a grand and impressive literary gathering at Gurayan. The presidium comprised Kendri Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Sekhon President Pawan Harchandpuri, General Secretary Prof. Sandhu Variyanvi, Progressive Writers Association President Prof. Surjit Jajj, Principal Navtej Singh Garhdiwala, Manch President Sham Sargundi, Chan Gurayan Wala’s nephew Nirmal Kumar, among others. Sant Kulwant Ram Bhromajra Ji, President of Shri Guru Ravidas Sadhu Sampradaya Punjab, and world-renowned singer Boota Muhammad Ji specially attended to extend blessings and good wishes.
The event was conducted by General Secretary and renowned folk poet Jagdish Rana, who, while explaining the activities of the Manch, said that the organization was established by renowned lyricist Makhan Luhar, who lives in America and is also its Chairman. He said that besides organizing literary programmes from time to time, the Manch also provides financial assistance to needy persons.
Manch Treasurer Gurmukh Luhar welcomed everyone and shared a composition.
Principal Navtej Garhdiwala shared detailed information about Chan Gurayan Wala and said that not everyone can become a lyricist like Chan. There is hardly any singer who has not sung a song written by Chan Gurayan Wala. Today, Gurayan has also gained an identity because of Chan’s name.
On this occasion, the Manch honoured renowned lyricist Madan Jalandhari with the first Chan Gurayan Wala Memorial Award by presenting him with a citation, cash prize, loi and books. Madan Jalandhari thanked the Manch and also mentioned his association with Chan Gurayan Wala. He said that being honoured in the name of Chan Gurayan Wala is itself a matter of pride.
Kendri Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Sekhon President Pawan Harchandpuri, who specially arrived from Dhuri, said that Navin Chetna Punjabi Lekhak Manch had made a major and commendable effort by honouring Madan Jalandhari in the name of the region’s great poet and lyricist Chan Gurayan Wala.
On this occasion, the Manch also released the book Shayran Di Duniya, Part 3, containing word portraits written by renowned folk poet Jagdish Rana about known and lesser-known poets. Speaking about the book, Prof. Sandhu Variyanvi and Prof. Surjit Jajj said that writing word portraits is not an easy task. The work being done by Jagdish Rana is historic. The research-oriented work that should have been undertaken by the Department of Languages, Punjab, university scholars or the Sahitya Akademi is being carried out single-handedly by Jagdish Rana.
Sant Kulwant Ram Bhromajra Ji and singer Boota Muhammad, who specially attended the occasion, said that the Manch had done commendable work by presenting Madan Jalandhari with an award in the name of Chan Gurayan Wala and that the choice was also very appropriate because if Chan Gurayan Wala is one side of the cassette, Madan Jalandhari is the other side. Congratulating Jagdish Rana on his book Shayran Di Duniya, Part 3, they said that Jagdish Rana, because of his hardworking, determined and courageous nature, easily accomplishes even the most difficult tasks. Preserving so many poets in a book is a great achievement. The book Vakhre Raahan De Paandhi by expatriate litterateur Kamal Dharmsot was also released on the occasion.
At the impressive poetry gathering held on the occasion, poets and singers including Satpal Sahlon, K Sadhu Singh, Sukhdev Singh Aulakh, Kulwant Singh Boonga, Vinder Majhi, Gurjit Singh Sehota, Hardyal Hoshiarpuri, Balwant Chirag, Ajit Pyasa, Dev Raj Dadar, Binder Bakapuri, Davinder Jassal, Surinder Sagar, Harmesh Gehoria, Gurdial Singh Muthadda and Dharminder Masani enthralled the audience with their compositions. Nakkash Chittewani, Ravinder Chot, Baldev Raj Komal, Dilbahar Shaukat, Pammi Rurka, Balwinder Kaur Heer (MC), Nirmal Gure, Mitr Manjit, Sohan Singh Bhinder, Tony Dusaajh, Jaswinder Phagwara, Babbu Saini, Sodhi Rana, Sood Virk, Jinga Singh, Vicky Bahadarke, Daljit Mehmi, Lali Kartarpuri, Mulkh Raj Jakhu, Sanjeev Sidhu, Rajiv Bharti, Shingara Masani, Jimmy Gurayan, Happy Gurayan, Shinda Gurayan, Surinder Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Sohan Lal, Randeep Jassi, Vardaan Raj and other litterateurs and literature lovers were also present.
The Manch also honoured the poets present along with the presidium.
