LPG Cylinder Booking Now Allowed Every 25 Days in Rural Areas Too

New Delhi, September 8:- People in rural areas will now be able to book a gas cylinder every 25 days. The Central Government has scrapped the 45-day rule for booking domestic LPG cylinders in rural areas. In urban areas, the interval for booking a cylinder refill is 25 days.
Union Minister of State for Petroleum Suresh Gopi said on Monday that the government has directed all oil marketing companies to implement the new rule with immediate effect.
Suresh Gopi noted that there was pressure on LPG supplies during the conflict between the United States and Iran. As a result, the refill booking interval was fixed at 25 days for urban areas on March 9, 2020, and 45 days for rural areas on March 12, 2020. The minister said that the LPG supply situation has improved and the backlog of pending bookings has declined; therefore, the Central Government has removed this restriction.
