KYC awareness camps organized in Bitan Kungrat and Puwobal as part of Financial Literacy Week

Una, February 10: As part of the Financial Literacy Week, which is being observed as per the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India, awareness camps were successfully organized today in the Gram Panchayats of Bitan, Kungrat, and Puwobal. Local villagers, account holders, and members of self-help groups participated in these camps.
During the camps, participants were given detailed information about the importance of KYC.
PNB Lead District Manager Sanjeev Saxena stated that the theme of these awareness camps was KYC – The First Step towards Secure Banking. He explained that timely KYC updates are not only essential for the continuity of banking services but also protect customers from financial fraud.
In addition, participants were also made aware of banking fraud, digital fraud, cyber fraud, and money mules. The public was informed that receiving unknown calls, using fake links, sharing OTPs, or transferring money to someone else's account constitutes a serious crime. Precautions and safe digital banking measures to avoid such frauds were also highlighted.
He urged attendees to remain vigilant and educate their families and those around them about safe banking and digital transactions.
