Indian expatriate in UAE wins Rs 240 crore jackpot
Chandigarh- In a heartwarming story of luck and dreams coming true, Anil Kumar, an Indian expatriate living in Abu Dhabi, has won the UAE lottery’s first ever 100 million dirham (over Rs 240 crore) jackpot. Bola’s life changed forever on October 18, when he won the grand prize in the 23rd Lucky Day draw.
Bola was at home when he got a call from the lottery team in the UAE. “I was in shock. I was sitting on the couch, and I had this feeling that yes, I have won. The jackpot winning ticket matched all seven numbers – 7, 10, 11, 18, 25, 29 (set of days) and 11 (set of months),” Bola said. Bola’s choice of lottery ticket numbers was personal, with the 11 numbers in the month section being a tribute to his mother’s birth month.
Bola said he plans to invest the jackpot money wisely and spend it on luxuries. “I was just thinking about how I need to invest this amount, spend it in the right way,” he said. “After winning this amount, I felt like I had money. Now, I need to act on my ideas in the right way, and I want to do something big.”
His list includes buying a supercar and celebrating at a luxurious seven-star hotel. However, his most heartfelt wish is to spend quality time with his loved ones. “I just want to take my family to the UAE, and I want to enjoy my entire life with them,” Bola said. Bola is also planning to donate a portion of his winnings to charity. He said that doing so would bring him “primordial happiness.” He thanked the UAE Lottery for this “huge opportunity” and hoped that it would continue to bring happiness to others.
He encouraged others to pursue their dreams, saying, “I believe that everything happens for a reason. I suggest every player to keep playing, and surely, one day your luck will shine.”
