Husband kills wife suspecting her character

Ambala, September 7:- A young man allegedly killed his 32-year-old wife by brutally attacking her with a knife after suspecting her character in Guru Nanak Nagar of Baldev Nagar in Ambala city. The deceased was a mother of two children. The husband was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the murder and fled the spot after committing the crime. On the complaint of the deceased's brother, police registered a case against the accused husband and started an investigation.
Nannu, a resident of Dhiru Nagar in Patiala, told police in his statement that his sister Hina had married Bunty, a resident of Bahadurgarh, about 13 years ago. They have an 11-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter. The family had been living on rent at House No. 19-C in Guru Nanak Nagar for the past three months. Bunty works in a factory.
Bunty allegedly suspected Hina's character. Whenever her phone was busy, he would quarrel with her, beat her and also threaten to kill her.
At around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Hina was washing clothes in the courtyard of the house. At that time, Bunty came home in an intoxicated condition and began abusing her while accusing her of having an illicit character. The argument escalated, and Hina, fed up with the situation, asked her husband for a divorce. According to her brother, his brother-in-law became angry, threatened to kill his sister, picked up a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Hina several times in the abdomen, chest and elbow. She fell to the ground covered in blood. Bunty fled the spot. With the help of family members and neighbours, Hina was taken to the Civil Hospital in Ambala city, where doctors declared her dead.
As soon as information about the incident was received, a team from Baldev Nagar police station reached the spot. The scene-of-crime team led by Dr. Chander Shekhar collected necessary evidence from the site. Police are conducting raids to apprehend the accused.
