HPV Vaccination Session Held at Lower Basal to Prevent Cervical Cancer
Una, August 20: The Health Department is conducting an HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccination campaign to prevent cervical cancer, running until August 31, 2026. As part of this initiative, an HPV vaccination session for eligible girls was organized on Thursday at Government High School, Lower Basal.
Providing this information, District Immunization Officer Dr. Richa Kalia stated that a target has been set to vaccinate eligible girls in the 14–15 age group across the district under 'Mission 4500'. Special vaccination sessions are being organized in various government and private educational institutions to ensure that the maximum number of eligible girls can benefit from the vaccination.
She mentioned that 10 eligible girls were identified for the session at the Lower Basal school, and 8 of them received the HPV vaccine.
The school headmaster, teachers, and the parents of the girls were present on the occasion.
