Haryana Government announces subsidy schemes for sugarcane farmers

Chandigarh, September 3:- Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department has launched an important initiative in the interest of farmers under the 'Sugane Technical Objective Project' for the year 2026-27. Under this scheme, grant money will be provided to farmers coming under the jurisdiction of Assistant Sugarcane Development Officers of major sugarcane producing areas of the state—Yamunanagar, Narayangarh, Shahabad, Karnal, Assandh, Bhadson, Panipat, Kaithal, Rohtak, Sonipat, Jind, Palwal, Bhuna, Gohana and Mahim.
The department spokesperson informed that this grant amount will be given for planting notified and recommended varieties of sugarcane using modern methods such as "Promotion of Wide Row Spacing (4 feet)", single-bud, bud-chip method, foundation seed nursery/seed treatment, and demonstration plots with a row spacing of 4 feet through ratoon management. The spokesperson shared information about the application deadline and said that farmers who have planted their sugarcane in the spring or summer season (after April) can register themselves by September 30, 2026 to avail the benefits of this scheme. At the same time, the application date for farmers who are going to plant sugarcane in the winter season (next October-November) has been fixed from October 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026. Interested farmers can submit their online application by visiting the official website of the department www.agriharyana.gov.in.
Apart from this, the state government is also providing subsidy on various agricultural implements under the "Mechanization in Sugarcane Implements" scheme to promote mechanization in the agriculture sector.
The spokesperson further informed that to avail the benefits of modern agricultural implements like Power Operated Sugarcane Set Treatment Device (30-120 liters capacity), Power Weeder (Engine operated from 5 to 7.5 BHP), Sugarcane Ratoon Manager, Wide-row Ridge/Ridge, Rotavator (4 feet), Tractor Operated Sprayer, Sub-Soiler/Chisler, Sugarcane Cutter/Stripper/Planter and Mini Tractor, farmers can also apply online on the website of the Agriculture Department between 30th September 2026. Detailed information and necessary guidelines related to the scheme have also been made available on the official website of the department.
