Government Polytechnic College Khunimajra Celebrates Independence Day Pays Tribute to Freedom Fighters
Kharar, August 15: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at Government Polytechnic College, Khunimajra. On the occasion, College Principal Mrs. Raksha Kiran hoisted the National Flag, the Tricolour, in the presence of the college staff and students. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem by all the staff members and students.
On the occasion, Principal Mrs. Raksha Kiran extended Independence Day greetings to all the students and staff and said that we should always remember the contributions of the freedom fighters who made great sacrifices for the country's independence. She said that freedom was achieved due to the sacrifices of numerous patriots and protecting it is the collective responsibility of all of us.
She called upon all the staff members and students to take a pledge on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day that they would always remain committed to the unity, integrity, communal harmony and progress of the country and contribute their part to the nation's journey of development.
During the programme, heads of various departments and staff members of the college were also specially present. These included Ms. Kavita Maunga, Head of the Department of Applied Science; Prof. Gurbakshish Singh, Officer In-charge, Civil Engineering and Coordinator, National Service Scheme; Mr. Sandeep Bajaj; Mr. Kuldeep Rai, Mechanical Department; Mrs. Anshu Sharma, Head of the Department of Electrical; Ms. Purnima and other staff members.
On the occasion, Prof. Raman Kumar of the Civil Engineering Department was specially congratulated for being honoured by the SDM, Kharar, for his outstanding role during the Special Intensive Revision campaign.
The atmosphere during the programme remained filled with patriotic spirit, and all those present reiterated their commitment to the unity, integrity and progress of the country.
